Enterprise named on Times Top 50 Employers for Women 2021

I am delighted to announce that once again, Enterprise has been recognised as one of The Times Top 50 Employers for Women in partnership with Business in the Community. You can read about this wonderful achievement in today's editorial in The Times.

I want to first thank everyone across our business who has continued to strive for gender equality in their every day work. It is your work and your achievement in leading your teams inclusively and with compassion that makes this annual recognition possible.

Enterprise has featured on this list ever since its introduction. It has helped us to build strong links with Business in the Community, which audits in detail the businesses that apply, and to learn from other leading businesses about how we can do better in the future.

Recognition by the Times and the BITC is a reminder that we are doing the right things to achieve our goal of a better gender balance. It is a huge achievement. Based on rigorous assessment of data and benchmarking, it is one of the most powerful endorsements of the impact of our business as a diverse and inclusive employer.

It confirms that we are introducing the right policies that are effective in supporting our employees at every stage of their career.

“COVID-19 has shone a light on how far we have to go on gender equality. We congratulate the many employers who have maintained their efforts towards gender equality at this time."
Charlotte Woodworth, Gender Equality Director at Business in the Community

We always say that we lead by listening and that we are open to change in order to embrace the needs of our people. This is fundamental to the success of our policy of promoting from within, which is such a great strength and differentiator for our culture. It is only by building a diverse and inclusive culture that offers opportunity for all that we can achieve our goal: that every new recruit will stay with the business long term and be part of how we deliver our mobility mission in a fast-changing world.

Our work has never been more important as Enterprise becomes a partner to communities and organisations wanting more sustainable and efficient transport that reduces congestion and improves air quality.

This is such an exciting opportunity for the business and for every one of our employees.

A diverse workforce is essential to help us to support our customers, and a gender balance is a key priority for us. If we can closely reflect the communities that we serve, we will understand our customer needs better and help people take advantage of new technology and innovation that is transforming how people travel.

This is an exciting journey and diversity is an essential fuel to help us reach our destination.
