We work hard and reward hard work
DRIVE editor Sarah Berthon spoke to Claire Graham, newly promoted to Group Rental Manager, about how Enterprise’s founding values encourage exceptional performance.
Claire is the epitome of we work hard and reward hard work, one of Enterprise’s founding values. Hers is an inspirational story proving that a young person from very humble beginnings can make a big impact both personally and professionally.
She began her career with Enterprise in 2012 as a Management Trainee in Crewe after relocating from Ireland and made a stunning start by winning membership of the “elite club” in her very first month. This performance continued and Claire made a rapid ascent to Branch Manager within only 18 months.
Claire’s ability to drive results as a branch manager was clear to see.
"Claire met the pandemic challenges head on assuming control of two rental areas"
Her rise continued and in less than four years, Claire was promoted to Area Manager in Cheshire. Sure enough, results again followed. In her first year as Area Manager, Claire was recognised in Portugal for her team's effort.
Claire then operated one of the largest geographical areas and fleets in her region, spanning branches across Lancashire and Merseyside, including the flagship outlet in Warrington. During this time, Claire helped two branch managers be promoted to Area Manager.
Claire met the pandemic challenges head on assuming control of two rental areas which included Manchester Airport.
"She has served as a supporter with partner charity Girls Out Loud, raised money working with local hospices in Bolton and Macclesfield, and assisted women’s refuges in Lancashire and Cheshire"
Beyond exceptional business results, Claire has been a prolific and fundamental player in Enterprise’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) initiatives. Claire is passionate about DE&I and aims to be a role model to others.
As an Area Manager before being promoted to Group Rental Manager, Claire focused on creating a gender balanced team, 50/50, and an ethnic minority workforce that mirrored the community.
Claire has led her region’s female focus team and the diversity committee, representing her region at UK meetings. Claire also serves on the NW engagement committee and has mentored many employees within her region (and beyond) over the last six years.
Claire’s devotion to helping others extends beyond her role at Enterprise. She has served as a supporter with partner charity Girls Out Loud, raised money working with local hospices in Bolton and Macclesfield, and assisted women’s refuges in Lancashire and Cheshire.
Claire has made an impact across all the communities she has worked within, aligning with another Enterprise founding value: to strengthen our communities – one neighbourhood at a time.
