How Emma Peduzzi got her dream job at Enterprise Mobility

Emma Peduzzi works as a European Bid Coordinator, based at our European Headquarters in Egham. We caught up with her to hear how she landed her dream job!

“This is the beauty of working for an international company that promotes from within: it opens so many doors and opportunities”

"I studied French and Linguistics at the University of Southampton. My degree included a year abroad where I worked as an English language teacher at two secondary schools in Perpignan, France.

I began thinking about what I wanted to do post-university during my third year abroad in France, as the popular language degree routes of translation and teaching weren’t appealing to me.

I signed up to participate in Bright Network’s ‘Internship Experience UK’ which was a two-day virtual course packed with valuable insights and opportunities, aimed at helping new graduates navigate career options and possibilities.

Enterprise Mobility was one of the companies involved in the internship and hearing about the company and the extensive opportunities it offers piqued my interest and inspired me to apply to their graduate programme the following year.

I joined the Graduate Management Training programme a few months after graduation. I worked in a rental branch gaining valuable experience in management, sales, and customer service.

Around a year into my graduate role I interviewed for my current position as a European Bid Coordinator, based at our European Headquarters Enterprise. I didn’t even know the role of ‘Bid Coordinator’ existed, let alone what it was. This is the beauty of working for an international company that promotes from within like Enterprise Mobility: it opens so many doors and opportunities!

“Enterprise Mobility is a company which encourages diversity of thought and welcomes all types of degrees”

I have now been working in the EMEA bid team for over a year. I manage and respond to international tenders to secure commercial contracts and expand our business.

In my new role I use my French language skills every day, speaking, reading and writing. Being able to use the language I am so passionate about and have studied for many years gives me a lot of job satisfaction.

At university I wasn’t sure if I’d ever find an opportunity to use my language degree at work, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Languages are becoming more important than ever as Enterprise Mobility becomes more international in scope.

As well as fluency in a second language, my languages degree has helped me so much in my career. It gave me valuable, transferable skills such as the ability to effectively gather, assess and interpret information, the ability to convey ideas concisely and effectively, strong communication and interpersonal skills, adaptability, the ability to exercise initiative and to problem solve.

Enterprise Mobility is a company which encourages diversity of thought and welcomes all types of degrees. I work with colleagues who studied history, classics, journalism and politics to name just a few. In short, and to bust a common myth, you don’t need to have studied business management to be successful at Enterprise Mobility!"
